About Zoe

Our story

Every Sunday at ZOE is all about Jesus and people. Our gatherings are filled with powerful worship, an encouraging message, and a community that feels like family. Whether you’ve been to church your whole life or it’s your very first time, you’ll find a place to belong and experience the love of God in a fresh way.

ZOE Church exists to share the hope and redemption of Jesus. We are passionate about the local church, loving God and loving people. Our church is a place where our doors are open to people of all backgrounds. The Greek translation for Zoe is “abundant life” and we hope all feel welcomed, comfortable, and loved.

At ZOE, we believe the Church is called to stand firm in a changing world. The truth of God’s Word anchors us, providing a foundation that never shifts. Our values flow from these eternal truths, shaping who we are as a community and how we live out the message of Jesus together.

ZOE was founded in 2015 by Pastors Chad and Julia Veach in Los Angeles. In August 2026 the church celebrated 11 years with an Anniversary Sunday.

What we believe

Scripture

We believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word, fully trustworthy and without error in everything it teaches. (2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Corinthians 2:13)

God

We believe in one eternal God who exists as three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are distinct but perfectly united. (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

Humanity & Sin

We believe God created people, but humanity sinned and turned away from God. At our very best we are unable to earn our way to righteousness, because our sin separates us from God. (Romans 3:10-18)

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully human. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is the Savior of the world. (Luke 1:26-35; John 1:18)

We believe Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day, appearing to His disciples. (1 Corinthians 15:14; Romans 4:25)

We believe Jesus ascended bodily into heaven, is exalted there, and will one day return in person for His Church. (John 14:2-3)

Salvation by Grace

We believe salvation is a free gift of God’s grace, received through faith and belief in Jesus’ finished work on the cross. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:12, 22)

Water Baptism

We believe Christians should be baptized in water by full immersion, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, as Jesus commanded. (Matthew 28:19)

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

We believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a powerful experience available to believers after and separately than salvation. (Acts 2:1-4; Galatians 3:14)

The Spirit-Filled Life

We believe Christians are called to live by the power of the Holy Spirit — set apart for God, growing in holiness, and expressing faith through action. (Ephesians 5:18; 1 Corinthians 6:14)

Marriage

We believe God created marriage to be between one man and one woman, as a sacred covenant. (Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:22-33)

Giving & Generosity

We believe in giving our tithes (the first 10% of our income) and offerings. (Malachi 3:10)
